RIGHT ON CUE: 5606 has pop-punk anthems for a post-Blink world Friday at the Refuge.

HIPSTERS claim to hate Blink 182, but you know they don’t change the station when “What’s My Age Again?” comes on the radio. With a gift for sounding sarcastic about partying while at the same time delivering genuine party music, San Jose’s 5606 nails the same funny, goofy vibe on top of guitars genetically engineered to deliver 35 percent bigger riffs than ordinary guitars. Their EP The World’s Most Dangerous piles track upon track of crisply produced pop-punk, loaded with bro-bonding anthems and ego-bruising attitude like “She’s never felt so famous/ As when we’re acting like we know what her name is.” After getting Billie Joe’s personal stamp of approval (“I really love what you guys do,” he told them), they’ve sailed through the tour circuit (Warped, BFD, Music in the Park) and made it onto Bay Area alt-radio.
