Not So Blue

Metro Fountain Blues Festival organizer Ted Gehrke is so sure the three-decade-strong festival was coming to an end after it lost its SJSU sponsorship that he has the farewell speech in his back pocket on March 2. Unlike a blues song, there was a happy ending: That very day, he gets a call from a mystery benefactor willing to sponsor the festival, so it’s back on.
