Blow by Blow
Whistleblowers like Bradley Manning, Julian Assange and the WikiLeaks staff are protected by law (“Wikileaks’ Domain ‘Killed,'” SV411.com, Dec. 8).
The pursuit of Assange on rape charges sounds like a frame-up to take him out and discredit him at the same time. I applaud what they’ve done and appreciate the risks they’ve taken. We need them desperately because so many others are willing to participate in the craziness and keep secrets.

Just Rewards
Jay [Boyarsky] is by far the most honest, committed, decent public servant I have ever had the pleasure of meeting (“Boyo Wonder,” The Fly, Dec. 15). It’s about time that people like this are rewarded for their tireless effort. Best of luck to Jay and Jeff.

Trotters
The Turkey Trot crowd does not ethnically/economically reflect San Jose. (“A Bartender’s Vantage Point,” SanJoseInside, Dec. 1)

Twain
Coffee-table books! (“Tomes, Sweet Tomes,” Arts, Dec. 8) I now know what to get my dad for Christmas—The Historical Atlas of the North American Railroad, nice idea. I am intrigued with Mark Twain’s remembrances. This is a book I am getting for myself. You made it sound enticing.

Starting Over
I say “recall” the entire [San Jose] City Council and mayor. Cut the heads off all of the snakes and watch all the special groups die by the wayside and then start over.
