Shake that healthy butt. Sir Mix-A-Lot and his posse left Broadway behind last night to play to a packed house at The Ritz in San Jose. The Seattle-based emcee proved that he is much more than a one-hit-wonder—even though his biggest hit is certainly wondrous.
He tore through a set filled with chest-rattling 808 bass and booty-smacking snares, putting on a clinic in old-school hip-hop. He ended the night with—what else?—the 1992 mega-hit “Baby Got Back,” inviting all the ladies who felt like shaking it to come up on stage.
