.I Saw You: Heckling is No Joke

There are certain people who think that stand-up comedy is a town hall or an open invitation for discussion; you’re one of those people. I saw you interrupt the show (at a particular avian-themed comedy club) because you felt that the joke the comedian was making was an inaccurate depiction of reality. That’s what a joke is, you dummy! That silver spoon you were fed from must have obscured all lessons in decency and decorum that most people go through, because you clearly had none. You spent the next few minutes arguing politics with the comedian, who compared two presidential candidates to fast food restaurants. In the end the comic was able to win the crowd to his side and shut you down properly. I truly hope one day you can find a horse high enough for you to climb on so that when you fall, it’ll hurt enough to change your ways.

I Saw You is an anonymous “man on the street” column. Email your rants and raves about co-workers or any badly behaving citizens to [email protected], or send to 380 S. First St, San Jose, 95113. Submissions should stick to about 100 words.
