What is that smell? A 20-year drought has led to the abolition of private toilets and the rise of a corporate authoritarian state where everyone has to pay to pee. Those caught relieving themselves outside of sanctioned latrines are exiled to Urinetown. No one is safe in this Tony Award-winning musical satire, which skewers capitalism, the legal system, corporate ethics, governmental bureaucracy and Broadway itself—with plenty of fourth-wall-breaking and campy, over-the-top showtunes. Memorable numbers include “It’s a Privilege to Pee,” “Follow Your Heart” and “I See A River.” Runs through May 5.
