Ballgowns? Check. Singing rodents? Check. This weekend, the classic ballet Cinderella comes to the San Jose stage, one of the most beloved ballets of all time. First composed and performed by Sergei Prokofiev in 1945, Cinderella tells the story of a young woman finding her way to stay in her kingdom following the tragic passing of her father. Most fans will know the story by way of the 1950 animated Disney rendition, but there have been many more recent plays on the classic story, from Brandy’s 1997 turn in the title role, Hilary Duff’s 2004 modern rendition and Kenneth Branagh’s 2015 version.
