Also known as the “Caruso of Rock,” Orbison was a musical powerhouse up until his untimely passing in 1988. This weekend, Orbison’s music is back on stage, with the fully scripted musical theater re-creation Roy Orbison Returns at Montgomery Theater. The performance shows Orbison’s concert years from the 1960s through ’80s, featuring hit songs “Crying,” “Pretty Woman” and “Only the Lonely,” while remaining true to his arrangements. With 26 studio albums, Orbison is recognized as one of the Greatest Artists of All Time by Rolling Stone and one of the Top 600 Recording Artists by Billboard.
