KT Tunstall, Scottish singer-songwriter of early aughts fame, experienced a musician’s nightmare in 2018: she lost her hearing in her left ear. Despite the challenge, she presses on happily, now on a solo tour of the West Coast filled with, in her words, “all my crazy gadgets so that I sound like a band.” She is known for hit tracks like “Suddenly I See,” but Tunstall has never wanted to be a pop star. Committed to constant adventure, she recently released Nut, her 2022 album exploring the mind, and “Century Trail,” a song inspired by a residency at the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska.
