The Golden Age of Hollywood launched countless household names, but one of its more underappreciated stars is finding a new limelight. Anna May Wong was considered the first Chinese-American film star during her 40+ years in the business. She’s also the subject of Gail Tsukiyama’s latest book, The Brightest Star. In a creative presentation of history as fiction, Tsukiyama celebrates and honors Wong by examining her life and contributions to cinema history. At Kepler’s on Tuesday, Tsukiyama will be in conversation, discussing Anna May Wong and her book, alongside Kepler’s own Angie Coiro.
Tue, 7pm, $15+
