The Empress of Soul is back in the Bay for one night only. This Thursday, seven time Grammy winner Gladys Knight performs for her adoring Bay Area fans at Saratoga’s Mountain Winery. Knight has been in the public sphere for over half a century, largely with her family group Gladys Knight & the Pips, with multiple number-one singles including “Midnight Train to Georgia.” Knight is an inductee in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and also recorded the theme song for the 1989 James Bond film License to Kill.
