The Martin Luther King, Jr. Research and Education Institute hosts a conversation with the beloved civil rights leader’s attorney, advisor and friend, Clarence B. Jones. He worked with King for desegregation by drafting settlement agreements, legal defenses and speeches. Jones helped King draft his “I Have a Dream” address and smuggled his “Letter from Birmingham Jail” out to the world in 1963. After King’s assassination in 1968, Jones continued to travel the world advocating for empowerment and hope. After writing two books about Kings’ philosophy and legacy, Jones has published a memoir, The Last of the Lions. Online RSVPs are encouraged.
