Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana (MACLA) and the Silicon Valley African Film Festival (SVAFF) present an author talk with the creator of The Black Joy Project, a book of eight curated essays and 117 color photographs that are “a digital and real-world affirmation that Black Joy is a resistance.” Author Kleaver Cruz will read from and sign copies of the book. In an evening billed as “celebrating African ancestry, heritage, health and wellness,” attendees can look forward to a fireside chat with Cruz and Chike Nwoiffiah, creative ambassador to the City of San Jose and founding director of Silicon Valley African Film Festival.
