Since the beginning, rock ’n’ roll has been a costume party, cosplay the de rigueur of rock since Elvis dressed up as a bluesman. The Beatles, of course, continued this fine tradition, and Bowie really leaned in, and it’s been going on ever since. Finally, there’s an event to celebrate this phenomenon: the Summer 2024 RocKosplay Concert featuring Aimai Mirai, Still Deer, Kill the Protagonist and Medium Spicy, plus a cosplay crowd in full regalia! It doesn’t get more authentic than a rock crowd explicitly getting all decked out and having fun instead of pretending they’re not.
