At some point, that which is becomes was, and in that sometimes-uncomfortable transition, things get archived. It’s the ongoing process of existence and memory, and it is on display in this reflective series. Archived artist material will be displayed in individualized spaces that allow the audience to contemplate the work of individuals as a whole. Starting with Lynn Hershman Leeson, a San Francisco-based filmmaker, and Bernice Bing, a queer Chinese American artist, the series will be an ongoing meditation on Cantor Center archived artists. This is the pilot presentation of the program, and the series will be ongoing.
