Now in its 40th year, Chicanx theater company Teatro Visión presents Macario, a Día de los Muertos tradition held at the Plaza every few years. Featuring original music and choreography, Teatro Visión’s Macario brings to life the classic story of a poor woodcutter who dreams of a day without hunger. When his wife finds a way to fulfill that wish, he receives a healing power that could change the lives of his family and community forever. Macario is presented in Spanish with subtitles in English and Spanish, with themed performances catering to college students, Girl Scout troops, the LGBTQ+ community and ASL users.
