Creativity thrives in peace and the absence of capitalist pressures to produce. MC Taylor created a beautiful work of art during the quiet hours in a cabin in the woods near Pittsburgh while his wife and newborn son slept. That “kitchen table album” is the now-famous Bad Debt. Taylor recorded it old-school, recording himself playing and singing, but it has long since been remastered, toasted and followed up on. The album is lovely: like Ani DiFranco with a touch of Paul Simon, but of these times.
