Anyone who thinks they don’t know Danny Elfman’s music is likely mistaken. His The Simpsons theme song alone makes him one of the human ear’s most frequent guests. He also provided soundtracks to most of Tim Burton’s movies. As Halloween playlists are assembled this month, they’re sure to include his soundtrack to The Nightmare Before Christmas, with him singing Jack Skellington’s parts, and “Dead Man’s Party,” recorded with his legendary genre-mashing band Oingo Boingo. One of pop and orchestral music’s most ambitious and adventurous artists, Elfman is touring with a setlist that promises to include favorites performed by an all-star band and orchestra.
