Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match! When Fiddler on the Roof hit Broadway back in 1964, it was a revelation. It became the first musical theater production to surpass 3,000 performances. It also held the record for the longest-running Broadway musical until Grease took over. Even then, it still won nine Tony Awards and spawned five Broadway revivals, plus a successful movie adaptation. Fiddler on the Roof focuses on the character of Tevye as he attempts to maintain his cultural conditions when worldly influences seek to disrupt his life. This Broadway classic chock-full of memorable songs runs through Nov 24.
