The producer, musician and DJ known as Slushii wasn’t always an electronic artist. He originally started in the psychedelic power-pop band Deuteronomy, then duo Monsters With Tiny Mustaches. In 2013, he began producing music as DJ Swoon, gaining a bit of a Soundcloud following before the streaming site deleted his profile, which turned out to be a good thing for fans because it pushed the artist to pivot into his Slushii moniker. With the name change came a lighter, more playful style. His first single as Slushii was a remix of Zedd and Selena Gomez, heralding in the future bass sound he would become known for.
