Noises Off is a spectacularly discombobulating show-within-a-show. A theater troupe rehearses their touring production of a sex comedy, Nothing On, and nothing goes right. The cast forgets lines, mixes up their blocking, misplaces props and pretty much loses sight of their intentions. With much gusto, Palo Alto Players presents what’s known as “the funniest farce ever written,” or perhaps a piece that highlights most memorably “a good old-fashioned plate of sardines.”
