Written by Henrik Ibsen in 1882, An Enemy of the People centers on Thomas Stockmann, a doctor in a small Norwegian town who discovers that the public baths that help fund the local economy are polluted, thanks to a nearby tannery. But when he raises concerns about the contamination, he’s met with opposition from community members, the mayor, newspaper editors and his family. The play has been adapted countless times, including a recent Broadway run starring Succession actor Jeremy Strong, who won a Tony. This production was adapted by Thomas Ostermeier and Florian Borchmeyer, is directed by Kenneth Kelleher and stars Coleton Schmitto as Stockmann.
