Blues singer Lara Price has a life story begging to be adapted into a stage musical. Price escaped war-ravaged Vietnam as a baby in the ill-fated “Operation Baby Lift,” a rescue effort with a 90 percent mortality rate. She survived and thrived, taking piano lessons from ’80s pop star Howard Jones starting when she was six years old. In the late ’90s, after studying music at BSU, Price made her way to the Bay Area, started a jam night at the legendary JJ’s Blues and launched Lara Price Blues Band, touring the globe and bringing her smoky, sultry vocal style and multi-instrumental skills to enthusiastic audiences everywhere.
