After winning a heap of awards, including several Tonys, celebrated playwright Ken Ludwig turned his attention to ancient Greece with The Gods of Comedy. The 2019 play centers on two classics professors, Ralph, who just discovered a complete manuscript of Euripides’ play Andromeda, an ancient classic thought to be lost to time, and Daphne, who loses said manuscript in the modern day. Desperate to find the manuscript, she calls upon the Greek god Dionysus and Muse Thalia to help her find it. Surprisingly, they manifest, and the mortals learn that accepting the help of ancient deities brings a boatload of hijinks and hilarity.
