Describing themselves as “anti-genre,” San Jose’s Colonel Macabre usually makes shimmering, alluring music with goth and folk undertones. But they’ve also created pieces combining Americana, found sounds, dreamy ambient soundscapes and musique concrète; they sure keep listeners guessing. The eclectic all-local triple-bill also features the indie power pop of Christian Francisco and melodic post-punkers Later Alligator. There is a $15 cover, but Heavy Lemon maintains a NOTAFLOF (no one turned away for lack of funds) policy.
