Sugarland, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Toby Keith, Rascall Flatts and Jason Aldean are the six headliners matched up for the “2012 Country Megaticket” at Shoreline this summer. A limited number of tickets will go on sale for the package this Friday, Februrary 3, at 10am.
Sugarland’s tour this year is somewhat unexpected, as the duo, Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush, just announced last November that they’d be taking time in 2012 to consider the future of the band, which some fans read as a possible sign of a split. (It didn’t help that the announcement came at the same time as news of a solo CD from Nettles). They are coming off a year of tragedy and triumph, with their Academy of Country Music award win for Vocal Duo of the Year and the success of their album The Incredible Machine and the song “Stuck Like Glue” overshadowed by the collapse of the stage at their Indiana State Fair show in August, which killed seven people and injured dozens more. In October, they held a benefit concert in honor of those killed in the incident. They’ll play Shoreline on June 1.
Miranda Lambert will play with Chris Young and Jerrod Neimann on Friday, April 27. Her most recent album, last year’s Four the Record, continued her string of commercially successful, critically praised records and gave her her highest-debuting single in “Baggage Claim” The song “Better in the Long Run” on the record is a duet with husband Blake Shelton, whom she married last year.
Brad Paisley will play with the Band Perry on July 27, while Toby Keith brings Brantley Gilbert on August 12. Rascall Flatts’ September 14 show will also feature Little Big Town, the Eli Young Band and Edens Edge. Jason Aldean will perform with Luke Bryan September 28.
Tickets for the package go on sale Friday, February 3 at Megaticket.com.
