The 2023 “Alice in Winterland” concert at the SAP Center on Dec. 1, produced by the radio station Alice 97.3 out of San Francisco, has been canceled. Headliners were country rapper Jelly Roll and alternative band Train.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, this year’s ‘Alice in Winterland’ concert has been canceled,” writes the radio station’s parent website. “If you purchased tickets, refunds may be obtained at the original point of purchase. We’re as disappointed as you are but we look forward to seeing you next year.”
Short of that explanation, there hasn’t been much reason for why. A lot of internet speculation is circling this news, however.
Last year’s “Alice in Winterland” concert was also held at the SAP Center. The would-be 24-year-old music event was born out of retaliation to Live 105’s “Not So Silent Night” concert also held in December. That event went defunct in 2017.
Alice 97.3 plays pop music and specializes in entertainment and mainstream culture news. It sounds like the radio station intends to resurrect the event next year, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
