Anoushka Shankar, daughter of Indian music master Ravi Shankar, has long since come into her own as an artist. Winner of nine Grammy Awards, the sitar player extraordinaire has charted her own path, recording and performing both classical Indian and original music—the latter informed by modern forms and the traditions of cultures around the globe. Shankar has also mounted a musical tribute to her father’s work. Her current tour supports a new EP, We Burn So Brightly, the third part of a trilogy.
