The Grateful Dead have risen again—by the skin of some extensive facial hair, that is. This Saturday, Bob Weir—one of the San Francisco group’s iconic founding members—will headline Stanford’s Frost Amphitheater with lots of new and old friends in tow. The legendary rock guitarist will front his latest group, Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros, originally formed in 2018 with an all-star team including Don Was, Jay Lane and Jeff Chimenti. The newer group takes on more of the mellow blues, folk and country sounds of the Dead’s songs, but it’s nevertheless a rocking good time.
