Tucked away downtown on San Carlos, the Orifice has been steadily offering a compelling variety of live music from hardcore to raves, and this week is no exception. Enter Bulldog, an imminent example of the swelling hardcore scene in Northern California. Bulldog’s sound is tough, unpretentious and full of emotion, like all good hardcore. But their music is also accessible, with lyrics describing failure, heartbreak and finding your own way, punctuated by heavy riffs and grindcore-like rapid-fire drums. Bulldog will be supported by bands Forced to Suffer, Rule of Thumb, and Pete Danger.

Orifice, San Jose
WOW! $15 for a punk show with a line-up of mostly unknowns? Ian MacKaye will hear about this. 😉
