.Cat Power in Menlo Park

Cat Power is one enigma; Bob Dylan is another. Cat Power singing Bob Dylan is almost too much. Intrepid fans of the husky-voiced mystery are in for a treat as Power recreates Dylan’s 1966 Royal Albert Hall concert (which technically took place 200 miles northwest in Manchester but has gone down in history under the wrong location due to an epic bootleg labeling snafu). That mythologized night found newly evolved rock ‘n’ roll Dylan in tweed, facing off against fans who wanted the folkie-old denim Dylan back. Power performs the show meticulously, song for song, with just a few significant changes. Judas! (AM)
