Since 1985, the Redwood Symphony has brought the finest classical, ragtime and big band compositions to Peninsula audiences. This month, they premiere Catch It Tonight!, an event program filled with classic songs from the American songbook. These include “Symphonic Dances” from West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein, The Suite from Our Town by Aaron Copland and “Liberty Fanfare” and “Escapades” from Catch Me if You Can by famed composer John Williams. To round this special performance, the Redwood Symphony will feature accompaniment from critically acclaimed saxophonist Michael Hernandez and the Symphony’s very own percussionist, Mark Goldstein.
