Stockton native Chris Isaak soared to critical acclaim (if not commercial success) with his 1985 debut album, Silvertone. Some well-placed uses of his music (think Twin Peaks and Blue Velvet) brought Isaak’s music to a broader audience, enthralling them with his moody, atmospheric approach. His 1990 song “Wicked Game” was featured in David Lynch’s Wild at Heart. More success and more placements in film and television followed, along with a Grammy nomination for 1995’s “Somebody’s Crying.” Eventually, Isaak got into film and television as an actor while maintaining his music career; he has released more than 12 albums to date.
