When musician Ethan Holtzman was visiting Cambodia, he became enthralled with the country’s psychedelic rock music. By chance or synchronicity, his brother Zac also fell in love with the sound while working at a record store. Seizing the opportunity, they created the band Dengue Fever to expose western audiences to this unique, cosmic sound. After enlisting Cambodian singer Chhom Nimol, the band released its debut album, full of mystifying and ethereal tracks that are as romantic as they are chilling. Now with a reputation for charity, features in hit movies and television, Dengue Fever is bigger than ever. The band play the Guild this week in support of upcoming album Ting Mong.
