Desi Comedy Fest, the largest South Asian comedy festival in America, comes to town this Thursday with a star-studded lineup. This year’s comics represent a diverse range of experiences and comedic styles: Abhay Nadkarni shares tales of moving from South India to South Central LA, Dhaya Lakshminarayanan performs her prize-winning political humor, Samson Koletkar explores his Indian-Jewish identity with nuance and charm. Together, they take on some of the most urgent questions that immigrants and people of color face in the US today, and they do so while making audiences cry tears of laughter. (AM)
