San Jose music has a few ecosystems, which maybe sometimes feel separate in a misleading way. They’re actually very much united by the same ethos: a DIY scrappiness that every once in a while conspires to create Unmissable Rock Shows like this one. Dumb is one of the most tightly-arranged, chirpy and angry-funny post-punk bands to emerge in years and for this bill the Vancouver group is paired with two of the Bay Area’s most exciting self-started songwriters in Natasha Sandworms (SJ) and Wyatt Smith (SF). With a bill this improbably stacked, the Caravan is primed to host a seemingly unending series of riffs and bangers.
