Whether someone calls their music Americana, American roots, or folk rock, the Dustbowl Revival is fun. With brass, strings and vocals rounding out a rich historical sound that takes on modern issues, they have sold out venues like LA’s Troubadour with their brand of booty-shaking rock. Opening is the Live Oaks, an Oakland band that plays with folk rock grooves from the ’60s and ’70s. Fans of the Grateful Dead, Phish and Little Feat might be drawn to this show, although the timeless sounds have a broader appeal. (LP)
