This weekend, some top classical musicians working today will bring their talents to the St. Francis Episcopal Church in San Jose. Though the show is titled Fantasia, this is not an adaptation of the classic Disney movie. It does, however, capture the mysterious but bright atmosphere of the film. Featuring relatively new compositions from composers like Daniel Kidane and Dobrinka Tabakova, the show’s four sections move with a mellifluous grace, enrapturing ears and creating a narrative arc that is heard rather than seen. Conducted by Alyssa Wang, the show will also feature James Blanchard on flute and Matthieu Cognet on piano. (TM)
