Local guitarist/composer Mason Razavi offers not one but two sets of impeccable jazz this Friday in celebration of the release of his first solo album, Six String Standards. After a sampling of songs from the album, Razavi plans to bring up several renowned guests, including beloved Bay Area music educator Rick Vandivier and internationally recognized jazz instrumentalist Hristo Vitchev, originally of Sofia, Bulgaria. Together these players represent some of the most astute devotees of the Bay Area jazz community, interpreting popular favorites by composers like Henry Mancini (who composed “Moon River” and “The Pink Panther Theme”) as well as myriad lesser-known gems.
