The changing landscape of downtown San Jose has taken a heavy toll on the otherwise vibrant local punk scene. One by one we lose venues and new ones never seem to arise to take their place, so the Caravan holding things down is essential to the cultural vitality of the area. This week they host an EP release show for SJ-based hardcore band Hazrdz, who have established themselves over the past few years with contributions to local compilations. Their style is evocative of Bay legends like Comadre, with raspy metal vocals over driving hardcore riffs. With their first long form release to celebrate, they’re sure to light things up this Saturday.
