You can finally take an android on a date. No, this isn’t Westworld. It’s The Pear Theatre’s latest  production, Uncanny Valley. Written by Thomas Gibbons and directed by Caroline Clark, the play centers around a robot’s journey toward sentience. Described  by The Washington Post as “fascinating” and “cerebrally challenging,” Uncanny Valley takes its title from the term used to describe the uncomfortable and eerie emotions we feel when a human replica appears almost—but not quite—lifelike. Test your own limits with this story about the collision of technology and humanity. Runs through Feb. 12. (DSJ)
