I saw you on the southbound Amtrak train. There was a man lying in the aisle, obviously drunk and unresponsive. The attendant threatened him with the police; other passengers asked to be moved to another car; still others, like myself, chose to ignore the situation. You were the young man in dreadlocks who showed concern and tried to communicate with him rather than make assumptions. Your actions resulted in an unscheduled stop to meet paramedics, rather than calling police to meet us in San Jose. This man may not have made it that far, since he had suffered what may be a diabetic event and was unable to communicate. I learned an important lesson that morning as I’m sure did others. Thank you.
