Originally from Alberta, Canada, artist Carly Slade received her MFA from San Jose State University and is currently an assistant professor at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Slade creates mixed-media dioramas made from clay, embroidery and building supplies. Her miniatures examine the relationship between buildings, architecture, and the community and its economy. For this new exhibit, Slade displays recent work, including recreations of homes and businesses in her former hometown of Philadelphia, comprised of ceramics, needlework and building materials based on Google images. Runs through June 15.
