Chicago-born pianist Jahari Stampley, a 21st-century jazz phenomenon, became a member of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra in 2017. Two years later, he won the Bösendorfer prize at the International American Jazz Pianists Association competition. A scarce two years after that, he graduated from the prestigious Manhattan School of Music. His major breakout came with a 2023 win at the Herbie Hancock International Jazz Institute Piano Competition. That same year, he released his debut album, Still Listening. Stampley’s Family Trio also features bassist D-Erania Stampley, his mother. As a composer, producer and educator, Jahari Stampley is still rising.
