James Francies started piano at age four and, at twenty-eight, is receiving well-deserved attention in what SJZ calls a “meteoric rise” and The New York Times calls a “pianist with liquid dynamism in his touch.” A composer, keyboardist and pianist, Francies blends jazz, hip-hop, pop and R&B. He also has perfect pitch and synesthesia (the ability to hear in colors), aiding him to create transcendent and solid music. He has played with many impressive talents, including appearing with the Roots on the Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. Francies will perform in the intimate Break Room venue with Damion Reid on drums and Mike Moreno on guitar, delivering powerful, subtle and sublime music. (LP)
