.Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit in Saratoga

Alt-country hero (and six-time Grammy winner) Jason Isbell has spent the year riding his 2023 album Weathervanes like a glorious stallion. Written during the pandemic and the filming of Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon (in which Isbell starred), the album finds the songwriter reaching new storytelling heights. Standout songs like “King of Oklahoma” and “Cast Iron Skillet” feel like old cowboy tunes fused with punk rock fueled by Isbell’s unstoppable band, the 400 Unit. The singer says, “There is something about boundaries on this record.” While that’s true, there’s also something about being raucous, wild and free.
