It’s been 50 years since a flute-shredding Scotsman named Ian Anderson first brought his group, Jethro Tull, to America. To celebrate, Anderson is returning for another lap around the states. On this tour, he and his band will focus on the first 15 years of Tull—which gave fans albums like Stand Up, Benefit, Aqualung and Thick as a Brick. But Anderson is not one to live in the past. In 2017, he released Jethro Tull – The String Quartets, featuring many of the band’s best known songs performed by the Carducci String Quartet. There’s also a new album in the works, with a tentative 2020 release.
