It’s important to celebrate all that surrounds Black joy and life. This Saturday, the African American Community Service Agency celebrates 157 years of freedom with the 41st annual Juneteenth festival, right in the heart of downtown San Jose. In years past, the festival has brought over 6,000 attendees to the South Bay celebration, with a wide variety of musical acts, artwork, food and local businesses. This year’s festivities take place in the SOFA district, with seven hours of scheduled events and celebrations—including performances by both gospel headliner Kierra Sheard and headliner Tamar Braxton.
