Hawaiian musician and composer Kris Fuchigami launched his ukulele career at age 13; two years later, he won a major competition on the Big Island and landed a prestigious scholarship. Soon he was headlining bills and playing festivals around the globe. Fuchigami has continued to rack up numerous awards in the decade-plus since then. His popular YouTube channel offers instructional videos and performances, and he released his latest album, Resurgence, in 2024. Fuchigami’s San Jose date is one of only three shows on his West Coast tour.
