Since 2014, Letters Aloud has traveled the country reading letters out loud. These thought-provoking and humorous correspondences are from real people, many of whose names are well-known and performed by actors. Each Letter Aloud show bears a theme, and this one, Thanks, But No Thanks, includes a request for Andy Warhol to pick up his painting at the front desk and an attempt from Sidney Poitier to borrow $100 from President Franklin Roosevelt. Anchorage Press aptly describes Letters Aloud as “a cultural odyssey where the audience glimpses personal moments for historical figures.” The performances are accompanied by live music and a slideshow.
